A WEEKEND IN KOH PHI PHI (THAILAND)
DAY 1
We met up at the airport at 8am and took a 45 minutes flight with Air Asia from KLIA2 (Kuala Lumpur) to Krabi (Thailand). Then from the airport, we had to take a bus down to Krabi town which was about 40 minutes away. Bus fare includes a return ferry trip to Koh Phi Phi (Phi Phi Island) which cost about RM50. The ferry trip towards the island took as long as 2 hours so better prepare some neck pillow.
By the time we got to the island, it was almost 1pm. Once we reached the jetty, there was 2 rows of locals holding up cardboards with their respective hotels' names. Fortunately, we found ours amongst all the chaos and walked for about 10 minutes to Sabai House which was where we would be spending our 2 nights. Each night cost about RM 150. The staff was very friendly and finally after paying the deposit, we were shown to our room.
So even though it was really sunny, we decided to take a walk around and see what the island had to offer.
After a while we headed back to the hotel and took a short nap, hoping when we wake up in the evening that we could go for a dip in the sea. I had a big shock when I saw it was low tide on our side of the beach at 4pm. But we made the most out of it by doing what girls do best... Taking photos.
This was dinner by the beach. It was really good. Paid about RM 35 each for the meal. Though it was dark, I enjoyed my seafood tom yam soup with rice and a glass of red wine. They came in a set.
While we were finishing out dinner, we saw a few fire show going on at some of the bars along the beach. Being tourists, that was were we went. Met a couple of friends who were so kind to invite us to tag along to watch them do thai kick boxing. It was a great night ended with a cup of frozen scrapped-up ice-cream (I have no idea what do you call it).
DAY 2
Island hopping. This is a must do when you are here. Paid RM75 each for the whole day trip. Went to a few interesting snorkeling spots, Monkey Beach, Maya Bay (the beach where they shot the James Bond movie) and also Bamboo Island. Do not need to worry if the tours would be sold out as you can make the booking at your accommodation. A simple breakfast and lunch were included in our package as well as water and snorkeling gears. However, do bring along a spare shirt, towel and some water for extra hydration. Sunscreen lotion is a must.
After a long day, we head back to the room and wash up and got changed before getting ourselves some dinner. That night, we met up with the same friendly people from the night before for a quick thai cuisine dinner and hung out at a bar. It was an awesome experience following the foreigners arounds as they were really friendly. We sang together with the live band, danced along and chill out throughout the night.
DAY 3
Finally, the 3rd day came. It was reality check. Time to head back home. Packed up and head to the jetty at about 10am. Took another 2 hours to go back to Krabi Town. From there, we paid about RM9 to get to the airport.
BYE BYE PHI PHI ISLAND, THAILAND. YOU HAVE BEEN GREAT TO ME. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.
